News / Author's Notes:
parameciumkid WAT an update?!? ZOMGLAWLOMGROFLMAOBBQSRSLY
Okay, so it took freakin' forever, but I've drawn another comic. This one is possibly the derpiest one yet, that being what happens when I draw a page piecemeal over the course of three months or so. Or however long it was.
As you can guess, a lot's been going on during that unintentional intermission about which I never got to post. I tried the "Monster Girl Challenge" from tumblr (see my DeviantArt page via "Links"), but as you can imagine I failed. :C It was going alright for a little while, but after ten days I completely fell off track to where there was no serious hope of catching up. So I gave up. Le sigh.
In other news, during the hiatus I ran across this blog hosted by Sarah Kovac, someone who, like Helia, uses her feet as hands, although in this case it is due to her hands being near-paralyzed rather than... absent. Here's a link (I'll also be posting this on the Links page): http://www.youtube.com/user/sarahselah
Oh yeah, the comic. The part about which the Author's Notes are supposed to be. Well, I already mentioned the derp. This is also the first comic since the reboot wherein I have a large close-up of Helia's foot. To me, that's an important moment - one of the challenges of writing a comic like this is having to draw feet realistically (ish), and, believe it or not, they're as hard, if not harder, to draw than hands. Since Helia's feet effectively are her hands, it was important to me that they look... well, good. Not weird and icky and stub-toed (no offense if you have short toes. I uh... well, I'm sure they're not ugly. And not being ugly is the important part here, not necessarily length. Although, if you want to get technical, Helia's character design does include long toes, as the extra dexterity afforded by these is a boon to her). I wanted them to have an "elegant" and clean feel overall, so that it isn't disgusting to see them being used to touch people's hands, eating utensils, etc. Hopefully I haven't failed... I think this rendition is alright, personally, but your thoughts are welcome!
